Adriane Smalls-Owens, DSL, MBA, MHA, BS, LPN has over 20+ years of healthcare, education, leadership and business experience combined. Her goal is to catapult strategic vision and goal execution within organizations combining her global business, healthcare, education and community leadership background to foster growth and development among diverse populations and individuals with a desire to advance professionally.
As an entrepreneur and community leader, Adriane has actively assumed the roles of Youth Director, Youth Advisor, Youth Choir and Mime Director. Her professional and academic experiences have afforded her opportunities to speak internationally to Global Executive MBA students, colleagues and university faculty. She has also served as moderator, panelist and public speaker at technology, aeronautics, community, school workshops and events. Dr. Adriane has a gift for developing and managing programs, creating organizational culture and structure across multiple industries. She has served on various non-profit boards, is a Harvard Business Review Advisory Council Member and serves as a mentor for The Washington Center Internship Program.
Dr. Adriane hold's a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from Southeastern University, a Global Executive MBA from IE University's Business School in Madrid, Spain with an entrepreneurial focus and special project on remodeling the recycling industry of Sao Paula, Brazil. In 2017, she obtained an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration degree from The George Washington University, focusing her studies on addressing academic disparities among underrepresented populations.
Dr. Adriane's undergraduate studies were completed at Austin Peay State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She holds a graduate certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University under the eCornell Bank of America Institute at Cornell program. She is a recipient of the Women in Leadership Scholarship Award from IE University, is a 2019 Globus Industry Champion: Developing Winning Competitive Strategies and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership Degree at Southeastern University.
In 2014, she served as an intern at The White House and The Washington Center during the Obama Administration. Dr. Adriane has studied abroad in China, Taiwan, Amsterdam, Singapore and Spain, collectively analyzing various learning methods, comprehension and communication styles of the varying cultures, strengthening her background in leadership, diversity and inclusion. Adriane's professional and academic experiences have come full circle in preparing and catapulting her career in human capital, formulating strategic leadership and effectively working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, religions and cultures.
